Deer Lodge, Tenn. – The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office is reporting significant storm damage in the Deer Lodge area after a powerful weather system swept through the region. Emergency crews are actively working to assist those affected and assess the full extent of the damage.

Sheriff Wayne Potter confirmed in a social media update that the hardest-hit areas include sections of Highway 27, where extensive damage has been reported. The sheriff urged residents and travelers to avoid the area until further notice as crews continue their work.

“We’ve seen substantial damage, and unfortunately, some individuals have been injured,” Sheriff Potter said. “Our teams are on the ground, and we’re doing everything we can to get help to those who need it most.”

In response to the storm, the Tennessee Highway Patrol has deployed a strike team to assist with the recovery effort. Captain Stacey Heatherly shared that 30 troopers have been dispatched to Morgan County to support local law enforcement and ensure public safety.

“Our mission right now is to support the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office and help manage the damage,” said Captain Heatherly. “We’re here to assist in any way we can.”

Additionally, the City of Oak Ridge has sent fire department personnel and other resources to aid in the recovery efforts.

Local authorities are urging residents to remain cautious and heed all evacuation or safety warnings as the situation continues to develop. With emergency teams working tirelessly, the community hopes to recover from the severe storm’s impact as quickly as possible.
