Maryville, TN – A landslide occurred Monday along State Route 116 in Anderson County, causing disruption to traffic. The slide took place near the Grave Hill Missionary Baptist Church, prompting an immediate response from the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).

Mark Nagi, a spokesperson for TDOT, confirmed the incident and stated that geotechnical engineers were sent to the scene to assess the damage and determine the best course of action. In the meantime, barriers will be installed to prevent further issues, and temporary traffic signals will be set up to guide drivers safely through the area.

As of now, no additional details about the extent of the slide or potential road closures have been released. TDOT continues to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates as necessary. Drivers in the area are advised to remain cautious and follow traffic signals.

The cause of the slide has not yet been determined, but officials are working swiftly to ensure the safety of the public and restore normal traffic flow on the affected route.
