COCKE COUNTY, Tenn. — A motorcycle crash on Highway 25/70 in Cocke County on Saturday afternoon has left two people injured, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP). The incident, which occurred around 1:30 p.m., involved a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a utility truck.

According to a preliminary report from THP, 47-year-old Jason Wilde of North Carolina was driving the motorcycle westbound when he failed to maintain his lane. As a result, the motorcycle collided with the side of an eastbound utility truck. After the impact, the motorcycle fell onto its side and slid into a Lincoln Navigator, which was also traveling eastbound.

Wilde and a passenger on the motorcycle were injured in the crash. Both individuals were taken to a local hospital for treatment, but the severity of their injuries has not been disclosed. No other injuries were reported.

The THP is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash, and charges are pending against Wilde, though further details have not been released. Authorities have not commented on whether alcohol or speed were factors in the crash.

The collision caused significant disruption to traffic, but the roadway has since been cleared. As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with additional information about the crash to come forward.

This crash is one of several recent accidents in the area, raising concerns about road safety. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is reminding all drivers to exercise caution and follow traffic laws, especially in areas with high traffic volume.
