Knoxville, TN– The Knoxville Police Department (KPD) is investigating an incident involving a vehicle that caused significant damage to the landscape at Lakeshore Park. Detectives with the Property Crimes Unit are seeking public assistance in identifying the person responsible for the damage, which occurred around 11:50 p.m. on December 19.

Surveillance footage captured a Nissan Xterra off-roading in the park, leading to the destruction of trees and other natural features. The vehicle was seen driving off designated paths, leaving deep tracks and damaging the park’s surroundings.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have information about the incident to come forward. Tips can be provided anonymously to East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers at 865-215-7165. Tipsters may also be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest or further investigation.

The KPD continues to investigate the case and is working to hold those responsible accountable for the damage caused to the public space.
