MARYVILLE, Tenn. — The Blount County Sheriff’s Office is urging local residents and visitors to prepare for significant traffic delays this weekend as the Rock the Country Festival takes over Maple Lane Farms in Greenback, Tennessee. The event, set for Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26, is expected to draw crowds ranging from 12,000 to 15,000 attendees each day.

Festival organizers are bracing for heavy traffic in the area, with congestion anticipated beginning Thursday, April 24, and continuing through Sunday, April 27. The increased traffic is expected to create substantial delays, particularly on Friday and Saturday, as festival-goers arrive and depart from the venue.

Sheriff James Lee Berrong addressed the potential disruptions, noting that deputies will be stationed at all major intersections leading to Maple Lane Farms, located at 1126 Maple Lane, to help manage the flow of traffic. Local residents and drivers in the area should expect significant delays, particularly during peak times on both festival days.

The festival’s schedule includes a performance by Nickelback on Friday, which is slated to wrap up at 11 p.m. On Saturday, Kid Rock will close the event, with the festival set to conclude around 11:20 p.m.

In anticipation of the large crowds, deputies will be positioned along key roads in the vicinity, including Henry Lane, Morganton Road, Maple Lane, Lambert Road, Gregory Road, and Meadow Road. These areas are expected to see the highest traffic volume, and festival attendees are advised to follow any traffic advisories or detour routes posted by the sheriff’s office.

Festival-goers are encouraged to plan ahead for delays, with the sheriff’s office emphasizing that major traffic congestion will be particularly noticeable on the festival’s busiest days. Travelers in the area may want to consider alternative routes or adjust their travel times to avoid the most impacted roads.

For those planning to attend the festival, it is advised to arrive early to allow ample time for parking and entry. Local law enforcement will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.
