JEFFERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — A man was injured in a fire and possible explosion involving an RV at Lake Cove Resort on Thursday, prompting a swift emergency response.

According to Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Director Brad Phillips, the fire and explosion were reported in the afternoon, with the incident drawing immediate attention from local authorities. The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was treated by Jefferson County EMS at the scene before being airlifted by Lifestar to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for further care.

At this time, the cause of the fire and explosion remains undetermined, as authorities continue to investigate the incident. “The investigation is still ongoing,” Phillips confirmed to WVLT News.

Dandridge police have verified that the incident occurred outside the city limits of Dandridge. Local law enforcement is working alongside the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office to gather more details and determine the exact cause of the event.

As the investigation unfolds, officials have urged the public to avoid speculation until more concrete information is available. The condition of the injured individual has not been released.

Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
