Multi-Vehicle Crash Closes I-75 North in Campbell County

CARYVILLE, Tenn. – A multi-vehicle crash has closed a portion of I-75 North in Campbell County near Stinking Creek, following a tractor-trailer overturning Thursday night. The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) reports that all lanes of traffic were blocked after the crash, which occurred just after 9:00 p.m.

Mark Nagi, a spokesperson for TDOT, stated that a traffic diversion is currently in place at Exit 141, the Oneida exit. Crews are working to unload a trailer that contains large forklift batteries, which are preventing the immediate clearance of the scene. Nagi added that one lane of I-75 North is expected to reopen by the 8:00 a.m. hour on Friday.

As of Friday morning, the closure remains in effect, causing significant traffic delays in the area. TDOT urges drivers to follow the posted detours and exercise caution while crews continue to work on clearing the scene.
