OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — Multiple people were injured early Sunday morning during a shooting at a block party in Oak Ridge’s Scarboro neighborhood, authorities confirmed.

The incident occurred near S. Benedict Avenue, where hundreds of residents had gathered for the community event. Following the shooting, several individuals were transported to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, officials said.

The Oak Ridge Police Department, Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Oak Ridge Fire Department, and Anderson County Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. The Seventh Judicial Crime Task Force, the Seventh Judicial District Attorney General’s Office, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are also involved in the ongoing investigation.

Details surrounding the motive and suspects remain unclear as authorities continue to gather information and interview witnesses.

Officials have urged anyone with information about the shooting to come forward to aid the investigation.
