MARYVILLE, Tenn. — A Silver Alert issued for a missing Maryville man was canceled Monday afternoon after authorities confirmed he was found safe. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) announced at 1:45 p.m. that 57-year-old Brian Scott Alley had been located after being reported missing on Sunday.

Alley, who was last seen near Rugby Place and Everett High Road, had been wearing jeans and a black jacket with green shoulder accents. According to the Maryville Police Department, he also uses a walker with a built-in seat. His description was circulated in the Silver Alert as authorities worked to locate him.

The alert was initially issued by the Maryville Police Department in response to the concern for Alley’s safety, with the community and law enforcement joining efforts to find him.

Nearly 400 people go missing in Tennessee each year, equating to about five people for every 100,000 residents. The state’s law enforcement agencies work diligently to track down missing persons, highlighting the importance of public awareness in ensuring the safe return of individuals who have gone missing.

In light of this, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation encourages residents to remain vigilant and report any information that could help locate those still missing. For those interested in assisting with ongoing searches, a list of missing individuals from East Tennessee is available online.

For now, the search for Brian Scott Alley has concluded with a positive outcome, offering a sense of relief to his family and the Maryville community.
