Maryville, TN – Last week, a large presence of fire, police, and EMS vehicles was reported near Newell on William Blount Drive.
The Blount County Fire Protection District confirmed this was a planned multi-agency training exercise, not an actual emergency.
Officials reminded the public not to call 911 for the activity, as dispatchers and personnel were already participating in the drill.
Normal emergency coverage continued while the exercise took place.
The department thanked the community for their understanding and support.
