KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – A routine afternoon turned chaotic in East Knoxville on Tuesday when a vehicle struck a pedestrian before crashing into a home on Holston Drive, according to the Knoxville Police Department.

The incident occurred in the 4200 block of Holston Drive. Investigators said the driver lost control of the vehicle after their booted foot became stuck on the accelerator, preventing them from stopping.

Authorities reported that the car veered off the roadway, struck a pedestrian, and then slammed into a nearby home. Emergency personnel responded quickly to the scene.

The condition of the pedestrian has not been released, and it is unclear if the homeowner or any occupants inside the house were injured. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers.

As of Tuesday evening, KPD had not indicated whether any citations or charges would be filed. The crash remains under investigation.
