KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced upcoming bridge repairs on Interstate 75 in Campbell County that are expected to significantly affect traffic flow.

Starting Sunday night, I-75 will be reduced to one lane in both directions at mile marker 133, near Exit 134. The lane restrictions will remain in place until the work is completed on May 25.

According to Mark Nagi, a spokesperson for TDOT, crews will be performing extensive repairs on the substructure and deck of the bridges that span Better Chanee Road and the R.J. Corman Railroad. These necessary repairs are part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the safety and functionality of the I-75 corridor.

Drivers traveling through the area are being urged to expect delays, particularly during peak traffic times. TDOT also cautioned motorists to exercise extra caution as workers will be present on-site during the duration of the project.

For those planning to travel through Campbell County in the coming weeks, it is advisable to consider alternative routes or plan for additional travel time. The department has emphasized that the repairs, though inconvenient, are essential for the continued safety of the traveling public.

Motorists are encouraged to stay informed about the status of the project and any potential changes by checking TDOT’s website or local traffic advisories.
