KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A Knoxville man is facing serious charges after allegedly attempting to rob a longtime acquaintance at gunpoint, according to an arrest report obtained by WVLT News.

The incident took place Sunday afternoon when 62-year-old Jackie McBee arrived at a residence on Mount Olive Road, knocking on the door of a home he had known for years. Once the door was opened, the victim told police that McBee forced his way inside, armed with an AR-15 style rifle.

According to the victim’s statement, McBee demanded he get on his knees at gunpoint in the living room. The victim also reported that McBee held the rifle to his head multiple times during the confrontation. At the same time, another individual, whose identity remains unknown, moved through the house, collecting valuables.

In total, the two suspects made off with a significant amount of money, a watch, and jewelry before fleeing the scene. Authorities have confirmed that McBee has been taken into custody, but the second suspect remains at large.

McBee now faces charges of aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery in connection with the incident. Investigators are working to identify the second individual involved in the crime.

The victim, who was not physically harmed during the ordeal, provided crucial information to authorities, helping to piece together the events that unfolded. Police are urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of the second suspect to come forward.

This case highlights the growing concerns about violent crimes involving firearms, particularly in residential areas. As the investigation continues, police are reminding the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

At this time, McBee remains in custody, awaiting further legal proceedings.
