Knoxville, Tenn. — An Amazon delivery truck crashed into an outbuilding of a church in Knoxville on Sunday afternoon after sliding on icy conditions. According to the Knoxville Police Department (KPD), the incident occurred on Yarnell Avenue after the driver had parked the vehicle.

KPD spokesman Scott Erland reported that the truck slid uncontrollably after being parked, ultimately colliding with an outbuilding at the Christian Fellowship Church. The driver, who was not injured, managed to exit the truck as it began to slide, avoiding any harm.

No injuries were reported from the crash, and the damage was limited to the church’s property. The driver, who is employed by an Amazon Delivery Service Partner, was unharmed during the incident.

Amazon responded to the situation with a statement from spokesperson Branden Baribeau, who expressed relief that no one was injured. Baribeau stated, “We’re thankful that no one was injured and we’ve reached out to the Christian Fellowship Church to apologize for this incident. Along with the Delivery Service Partner that employs the driver, we intend to support the Christian Fellowship Church if any repairs are needed.”

The Knoxville Police Department continues to monitor the aftermath, and Amazon has assured the public that they will take necessary steps to address the damage caused by the crash.
