MARYVILLE, TN— A wreck involving an electric pole left more than 1,000 people without power in Maryville on Saturday afternoon. The incident, which occurred at approximately 4:27 p.m. on January 11, disrupted service to the Morganton Road area, affecting residents from Foothills Mall to William Blount Drive.

According to the City of Maryville, emergency responders were immediately dispatched to the scene at the intersection of Morganton and Moonrise. The crash caused significant damage to an electric pole, resulting in a power outage that impacted about 1,500 people in the surrounding area.

Crews worked quickly to repair the damage, and power was fully restored to the affected neighborhoods around 5:40 p.m. on Saturday, less than two hours after the incident was reported.

While no details have been released regarding the cause of the wreck or any potential injuries, authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution in the area as investigations continue.
