Maryville, TN — Several accidents occurred on Interstate 75 in Campbell County on Sunday, as icy conditions created hazardous driving conditions across the region. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) and the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), at least three crashes were reported on the highway.

The incidents included a crash on the northbound lanes near mile marker 138, a rollover accident on the southbound side at mile marker 142, and another collision on the northbound side at mile marker 140.

Officials believe icy patches on the roadway contributed to the accidents, making travel treacherous for drivers. Emergency crews responded to the scene to assist with traffic flow and to clear the wreckage, though delays were reported throughout the area.

Authorities are urging drivers to use caution and slow down during winter weather, especially when encountering icy conditions on the roads. The THP and TDOT continue to monitor the situation, advising motorists to stay updated on road conditions before heading out.

As the winter season continues, officials are reminding the public to remain vigilant and drive with extra care to avoid accidents and ensure road safety.
