One Dead, Another Injured in Head-On Collision on Chapman Highway

Maryville, TN – A fatal crash occurred Monday evening on Chapman Highway, claiming the life of a 46-year-old driver. According to a preliminary report released by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the incident took place around 6 p.m. near the intersection of Maples Road.

The crash involved a northbound GMC Sierra, which crossed into southbound traffic and collided head-on with a Honda Ridgeline. The driver of the GMC Sierra, identified as Benjiman Jones, was killed in the crash. Authorities reported that Jones was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.

The driver of the Honda Ridgeline sustained injuries, though details on their condition have not been released. Emergency responders from the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department arrived at the scene shortly after the crash, and southbound lanes of Chapman Highway were temporarily closed while crews worked to clear the area.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation as authorities continue to gather information.
