Knoxville, TN – A Knoxville man wanted on multiple charges was arrested Wednesday afternoon after a coordinated effort by local law enforcement.

Haushann Simpson, 31, was taken into custody at a residence on Prosser Road. He had been sought by the Knoxville Police Department (KPD) on charges stemming from an indictment for carjacking, aggravated robbery, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

The arrest followed an incident the previous day, when Simpson fled from a traffic stop on Tuesday. According to KPD, Simpson led officers on a brief chase before abandoning his vehicle near Cornelia Street. Despite his attempt to escape, the KPD’s Special Operations Squad, with assistance from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office’s AirWatch Unit, worked quickly to locate and apprehend Simpson.

Simpson’s arrest is part of an ongoing investigation, and KPD officials have indicated that additional charges could be forthcoming as they continue to gather information.

Simpson’s criminal history includes prior felony convictions, which played a role in the charges related to firearm possession. Authorities have not disclosed further details about his criminal record or the circumstances surrounding the carjacking and robbery charges.

This latest arrest adds to a growing list of violent crime investigations in the city, and law enforcement agencies have emphasized their commitment to taking swift action in tracking down suspects linked to serious offenses.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have urged anyone with information related to Simpson’s alleged crimes to come forward.
