Knoxville, TN – Knoxville Waste Connection has announced service disruptions due to a winter storm expected to impact East Tennessee from Friday into Saturday. The company stated it will not be running waste collection routes on Friday, January 12, in anticipation of hazardous conditions.

Residents whose scheduled pick-up day falls on Friday will have their services delayed until Monday, January 15. For all other customers, waste collection will be delayed by one day, meaning Monday’s route will be serviced on Tuesday, Tuesday’s on Wednesday, and so on.

In addition, recycling customers who were skipped this week will have their recycling collected next week. The company also reminded residents that they may put out additional boxed recycling with their next scheduled pick-up.

As the storm approaches, Knoxville Waste Connection urges residents to stay informed and adjust their plans accordingly. For timely weather updates, locals can turn to the WVLT First Alert Weather app, available for both iPhone and Android. The app offers custom videos, forecasts, and notifications to help keep residents updated on the latest weather conditions.
