Knoxville, Tenn. – Two individuals have been charged with vandalism after they allegedly defaced Lakeshore Park last month, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
Park staff reported that several individuals were captured on security footage jumping the playground fence and spray painting inappropriate images and messages on the playground slide and nearby sidewalk. The vandalism caused significant damage to the park’s facilities, which are regularly used by families and visitors from across the area.
After a thorough investigation, authorities identified the suspects as 20-year-old Victoria White and 19-year-old Austin Rogers, both residents of Loudon, Tennessee. The Knoxville Police Department confirmed the charges against the duo, each facing one count of vandalism.
“We are again saddened and disappointed that people choose to vandalize our beautiful park,” Lakeshore Park stated in a post on social media the day after the incident. “As you can see, we have them on camera and we will be holding them accountable.”
Both White and Rogers are scheduled to appear in court on June 3. The case highlights ongoing concerns about public spaces and the impact of such acts of vandalism on local communities.
