Knoxville, Tenn. — Two individuals, including a 17-year-old and 19-year-old Elijah Hall, were arrested on Monday after detectives with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) took them into custody on a range of charges, including the possession of fully-automatic weapons.
The arrests occurred at the Walmart on Kinzel Way, where KCSO detectives from the Juvenile, Narcotics, and Organized Retail Crime Units, along with the department’s Aviation Unit, responded to the scene. The two suspects were identified as Hall, a 19-year-old, and the unidentified 17-year-old male. Authorities said the 17-year-old had outstanding charges prior to the incident.
According to KCSO, both suspects attempted to flee from detectives during the arrest but were quickly apprehended without any further incident or injury. The sheriff’s office noted that additional charges had been filed against one of the suspects, with the second adult male facing several existing charges, in addition to those stemming from Monday’s events.
Law enforcement did not release specific details on the weapons seized, but the charges against the suspects were described as serious. The Knoxville Police Department and the sheriff’s office are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the arrests.
The incident serves as a reminder of ongoing law enforcement efforts to combat crime and ensure public safety in the area. Further details regarding the suspects’ charges and the investigation are expected to be released as the case develops.
