KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Emergency crews responded to a two-alarm house fire in East Knox County on Sunday afternoon. The fire, which broke out in the 7600 block of Millertown Pike, was reported just before 5:30 p.m.
Rural Metro Fire crews were quick to arrive at the scene, where they found the fire engulfing a two-story house. According to a spokesperson for the Knoxville Fire Department, the fire involved not only the house but also multiple structures and areas of brush in the surrounding area.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) confirmed that no injuries had been reported, and efforts to account for the home’s pets were largely successful. Rural Metro’s Jeff Bagwell added that most of the pets had been located safely.
As fire crews worked to contain the blaze, investigators from the KCSO prepared to take over the scene. The investigation into the cause and origin of the fire is now underway, with authorities stating they will provide more details once the area is fully secured.
At this time, officials are urging residents to stay clear of the area while emergency responders continue their work. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
