Knoxville, Tenn. – A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot in Knoxville early Monday morning, prompting a homicide investigation by the Knoxville Police Department (KPD). According to KPD spokesperson Scott Erland, officers responded to a shooting call around 12:15 a.m. on the 2500 block of Louise Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the teenager’s body in the backyard of a home, where he had sustained at least one gunshot wound. Despite efforts to provide assistance, the teen was pronounced dead at the scene. Several shell casings were recovered in the area, though authorities have not disclosed any further details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
