Knoxville, Tenn. – A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot in Knoxville early Monday morning, prompting a homicide investigation by the Knoxville Police Department (KPD). According to KPD spokesperson Scott Erland, officers responded to a shooting call around 12:15 a.m. on the 2500 block of Louise Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the teenager’s body in the backyard of a home, where he had sustained at least one gunshot wound. Despite efforts to provide assistance, the teen was pronounced dead at the scene. Several shell casings were recovered in the area, though authorities have not disclosed any further details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

As of now, no suspects have been identified or charged, and the investigation is ongoing. KPD’s Homicide Unit is leading the inquiry, working to gather more information from the scene and the community.

Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward. Residents are encouraged to contact East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers anonymously at 865-215-7165.

This tragic event marks another incident of violence in the Knoxville area, and officials are seeking assistance from the public to ensure those responsible are held accountable. The investigation continues, and more updates are expected as new details emerge.
