KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon at the Pinnacle Park Apartment complex, located on Hall of Fame Drive. The incident took place around 3:15 p.m. in the complex’s parking lot, where officers responded to reports of gunfire.

Upon arrival, police found 21-year-old Christopher Taylor suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the University of Tennessee Medical Center in critical condition but was later pronounced dead. The victim’s identity was confirmed by authorities following the tragic event.

Investigators quickly identified 19-year-old Tyzeek Wallace as the suspect in the shooting. Police linked him to a vehicle—an Infiniti sedan—registered in his name, which was seen leaving the scene. Detectives believe Wallace shot Taylor for reasons still under investigation.

KPD issued a warrant for Wallace’s arrest, charging him with second-degree murder. The suspect turned himself in to authorities on Thursday, just a day after the incident. Police continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

At this time, the Knoxville Police Department has not released additional details regarding the motive. The investigation remains ongoing.
