Maryville, TN – An investigation is underway following a fire that destroyed a three-story abandoned structure in Roane County on Saturday afternoon. The fire, which broke out shortly after 2:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of Ruritan Road, prompted a swift response from multiple local fire departments.

According to the Roane County Office of Emergency Services & Homeland Security, emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the building fully engulfed in flames. The structure, which was unoccupied at the time of the fire, has been deemed a total loss. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and authorities confirmed that no one was inside the building when the fire started.

The Roane County Emergency Management Agency is working alongside fire officials to determine the cause of the blaze. While the investigation is still ongoing, authorities have not released any further details.

Local fire departments worked throughout the afternoon and evening to contain the fire, which caused significant damage to the property. The building, which had been abandoned, had long been a source of concern for nearby residents.

As the investigation continues, officials are urging anyone with information about the fire to come forward.
