Maryville, TN – A fire at The Steel Room, a popular workout facility located at 610 Ellis Ave. in Maryville, caused significant damage just before the Christmas holiday, but officials report that the damage may not be as severe as initially feared. According to Maryville Police and Fire Chief Tony Crisp, while the fire caused extensive damage to the interior of the building, including destruction from both the flames and the water used to put out the fire, the exterior of the facility remained largely intact.

“The interior of the building suffered extensive damage due to the fire and the water used to extinguish it,” said Crisp. “However, it’s not a total loss. The outside of the building, in particular, didn’t suffer too badly.”

The fire’s cause remains under investigation, but fire crews responded quickly to the scene after being alerted to the blaze. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and no other properties in the area were affected by the fire.

The Steel Room, a well-known gym in Maryville, has been a local hub for fitness enthusiasts, and the community has expressed concern over the damage. Despite the setbacks, the facility’s owners are optimistic about rebuilding and recovering from the incident.

As the investigation continues, city officials and local fire crews are working together to ensure the property can be restored as quickly as possible, and The Steel Room can return to serving the community in the near future.
