MORGAN COUNTY, Tenn. – A suspect has been arrested following a deadly shooting in Morgan County on Sunday morning. Deputies from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at a home on Deerlodge Highway around 11 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of Ivory Hamby, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI).
A woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was also injured in the incident and was transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment. Her condition remains unclear at this time.
District Attorney General Russell Johnson confirmed that one person has been arrested in connection with the shooting, though the suspect’s identity has not been released. The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation, and further details surrounding the incident are limited.
Johnson also assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community, emphasizing that authorities are working diligently to determine the circumstances leading to the deadly encounter.
