Knoxville, Tenn. – A deadly shooting occurred Friday evening in East Knoxville, resulting in the death of a 41-year-old man from Detroit.

Around 7:30 p.m., the Knoxville Police Department responded to reports of an unresponsive man in the passenger seat of a disabled vehicle near the intersection of Dandridge Avenue and Riverside Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the victim, later identified as Antonio Middlebrooks of Detroit, had sustained at least one gunshot wound. Middlebrooks was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial investigations suggest that multiple gunshots were fired at the vehicle from another car, which fled the area after the shooting. Authorities have not yet released a description of the suspect vehicle, and no arrests have been made.

The Knoxville Police Department is asking anyone with information about the incident or the suspect vehicle to come forward. Tips can be reported anonymously through East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers at 865-215-7165.

This shooting marks the latest in a series of violent incidents in the area, raising concerns about safety in the neighborhood. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to gather more details.
