MARYVILLE, Tenn. — The Blount County Sheriff’s Office is alerting residents and travelers about potential traffic disruptions in the Greenback area this weekend due to the Rock the Country Festival at Maple Lane Farms.

The festival, scheduled for Friday, April 25, and Saturday, April 26, is expected to draw significant crowds, with organizers anticipating 12,000 to 15,000 attendees each day. As a result, local authorities are advising drivers to prepare for major delays, particularly as festivalgoers arrive and depart throughout the weekend.

Sheriff James Lee Berrong confirmed that traffic impacts in the area will begin Thursday and continue through Sunday. Deputies will be positioned at major intersections leading into Maple Lane Farms, located at 1126 Maple Lane, in an effort to direct traffic and manage congestion.

“Given the large turnout expected, we want to ensure public safety while also minimizing traffic disruptions,” said Sheriff Berrong. “We encourage everyone to be patient and plan ahead for possible delays.”

The festival is set to feature performances from notable acts, with Nickelback headlining on Friday evening and Kid Rock closing the event on Saturday. The festivities will conclude around 11 p.m. on both nights, with Saturday’s performance wrapping up at 11:20 p.m.

In preparation for the influx of festivalgoers, deputies will be stationed along key roads in the vicinity, including Henry Lane, Morganton Road, Maple Lane, Lambert Road, Gregory Road, and Meadow Road. Drivers are strongly urged to be cautious and expect delays, particularly during peak travel times on Friday and Saturday.

For those planning to attend or pass through the area, it may be wise to consider alternative routes or adjust travel schedules to avoid the worst of the congestion. The Blount County Sheriff’s Office has also released a traffic management plan, which can be accessed for further details.

As the festival draws closer, authorities are reminding everyone to stay alert and follow traffic instructions to ensure a smooth and safe experience for all involved.
