LENOIR CITY, Tenn. – A police chase in Lenoir City on Saturday morning came to an abrupt end when the suspect crashed into a building, leading to his arrest. The incident unfolded around 9:30 a.m. when deputies from the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle on Martel Road after observing erratic driving.
According to Cpl. Cody Bengel, the driver, later identified as 26-year-old Nicholas White, refused to pull over and sped off, initiating a brief pursuit through the city. The chase continued onto Broadway, where White attempted to turn down a side street. However, his vehicle collided with the corner of a building and a parked truck, bringing the chase to an end.
White was quickly apprehended by authorities and taken into custody. He now faces multiple charges, including:

Cpl. Bengel emphasized the dangers involved in high-speed chases, especially in a densely populated area. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the crash, though the incident caused significant property damage.
The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the case. White’s arrest serves as a reminder of the potential risks posed by individuals who attempt to evade law enforcement, endangering not only themselves but also others on the road.
