KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A woman was arrested early Saturday morning after crashing her vehicle into an unoccupied building in downtown Knoxville, according to the Knoxville Police Department (KPD).

Around 3:00 a.m., KPD officers responded to the scene on the 300 block of S. Gay Street, where they found a Jeep Wrangler had crashed into a building. Authorities reported that the building was vacant at the time, and fortunately, no injuries were sustained in the incident.

The driver, a woman whose identity has not been disclosed, was detained by officers at the scene. She was subsequently arrested and charged with driving under the influence (DUI).

This incident is part of an ongoing effort by local authorities to address impaired driving in the area. While no one was hurt, the crash serves as a stark reminder of the risks associated with driving under the influence.

The Knoxville Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident.
