MORGAN COUNTY, Tenn. – A suspect was arrested following a fatal shooting in Morgan County on Sunday morning. Deputies from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department responded to a home on Deerlodge Highway around 11 a.m., where they discovered the body of 33-year-old Ivory Hamby.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) confirmed Hamby’s death, and District Attorney General Russell Johnson reported that another woman was injured in the shooting. The woman was immediately transported to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment.

Authorities have arrested one individual in connection with the incident, but the investigation is still ongoing. No further details about the suspect have been released at this time.

TBI officials stated that there is no ongoing threat to the community, though the motive for the shooting remains unclear. District Attorney General Johnson emphasized that the investigation is continuing and that additional information will be shared as it becomes available.

This marks the latest in a series of violent incidents in the region, leaving residents and officials searching for answers. As the investigation progresses, authorities urge anyone with information to come forward.

Further updates will be provided as more details emerge.
