Maryville, Tenn. – A man is facing charges after his wife was found dead in a vehicle in what authorities are describing as a violent incident in Tennessee.

Nathan Wilson, of McMinnville, has been charged with criminal homicide, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse following the death of his wife, Amber Wilson. The tragic events unfolded in mid-January when authorities were called to a home in Fentress County after Nathan’s brother, Joseph Wilson, reported that Nathan was making self-harm threats.

Deputies arrived at the home located on Banner Springs Road in Jamestown, where they discovered Amber Wilson’s body in the back of a Jeep. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) and Fentress County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) quickly launched an investigation into her death.

According to District Attorney Chris Stanford, Nathan Wilson later admitted to hitting his wife with a vehicle on either the night of January 17 or the early morning hours of January 18 in McMinnville, located in neighboring Warren County. Further investigation revealed that Nathan also allegedly confessed to a third party, not affiliated with law enforcement, about his role in the fatal incident.

An autopsy confirmed that Amber Wilson’s cause of death was blunt force trauma, consistent with being struck by a vehicle. Authorities believe that a damaged Ford Explorer, which was located during the investigation, was the vehicle used to kill her. In addition, they suspect that the Jeep in which her body was found was the vehicle Nathan used to transport her remains to the home in Fentress County.

Nathan Wilson, 33, was arrested and is being held at the Fentress County Jail on a $150,000 bond. He is scheduled to be transferred to Warren County, where he will likely face additional charges and be held without bond until a court appearance.

The case has shocked the local communities, with many expressing disbelief over the horrific nature of the crime. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge as the legal process unfolds.

Amber Wilson’s family and friends are left to mourn her loss, as authorities continue to seek justice for her tragic death.
