MARYVILLE, Tenn. — A 14-year-old is facing serious charges after being accused of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old child at an in-home daycare in Blount County. The Blount County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that investigators verified the assault on March 17, prompting the arrest of the teen on two counts of aggravated rape of a child by a delinquent.

The young suspect is currently being held at the Blount County Juvenile Facility as authorities prepare for a hearing in Juvenile Court. The investigation is ongoing, and officials are working closely with the Department of Children’s Services to identify any additional victims of potential abuse.

The alleged incident took place at an in-home daycare facility, which has since been voluntarily closed by its owner. Authorities have not indicated whether the daycare owner had any involvement in the assault but have emphasized the seriousness of the situation. The closure of the daycare is seen as a precautionary measure as the investigation unfolds.

As of now, law enforcement is urging anyone with relevant information to come forward as they continue to piece together the details of the case. Investigators are working to confirm whether there are any other children who may have been victims of abuse.
