MARYVILLE, Tenn. — A 14-year-old boy is facing two counts of aggravated rape of a child after authorities confirmed that a 4-year-old was sexually assaulted while attending an in-home daycare in Blount County.

The Blount County Sheriff’s Office reported that on March 17, investigators were notified of the assault, which took place at the daycare facility. The child’s parents were reportedly alerted to the incident, leading to an immediate investigation. The 14-year-old suspect has since been taken into custody and is currently being held at the Blount County Juvenile Facility. He is awaiting a hearing in Blount County Juvenile Court.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the case and are working in collaboration with the Department of Children’s Services to determine whether there may be other victims. The investigation remains active, and officials are focused on gathering all relevant details to ensure justice is served.

In response to the allegations, the owner of the in-home daycare voluntarily decided to close the business. The closure came as the investigation unfolded, though the owner has not been named by law enforcement.

The case has shocked the local community, particularly given the age of both the victim and the alleged perpetrator. As of now, investigators have not revealed any further details regarding the circumstances of the assault or whether additional charges will be filed.

The Blount County Sheriff’s Office has assured the public that updates will be provided as the investigation progresses. Authorities are continuing to offer support to the victim and their family during this difficult time.
